Gina Tricot's Signature Nail Wraps - swatches and review.

Hello there!

How are you lovely readers? For todays post I have something special and rather unusual for me - nail wraps. Im very excited to show you them today cause I never used any before, reason being, I thought it was simply waste of money.

Nail wraps can be very price-y where I live and for the same amount of money I can get a new bottle of nail polish (or two!). That was until I found them at Gina Tricot. The price is really low (29kr for my Swedish readers) which is a great thing but there was one thing I was afraid of: lower price = worse quality. But about that and other things I noticed later, here is a picture showing how they are packed. (I forgot to take pictures of my own sheet so I borrowed this one from www.ginatricot.com)

Now, the ones Im going to show you today are "aztec print" (I call them this way, there is no name or number on them) but there was not a single picture of the "aztec" ones on the site so I took this one, I will swatch this one for you as well cause I bought it too. Ill show you the pictures first and then comment about anything that I thought was important.

This is right after I put them on:

And this is 4 days later:

Things I noticed:
* they are neatly packed and very easy to get hold off
* sizes of the wraps are various, you can easily pick ones that match your nails
* if like me, you are sometimes very clumsy and destroy the wrap that matches your nail size (hint: check my index finger), its really easy to cut one of the rest of them to the right size (yes, I cut way too much)
* very easy to apply, if placed wrong simply peel off and put them on again - nothing bad happens then (glue is still there and your nail bed is fine)
* sticky side is covered in glue
* after a while, when you want to remove the wraps, there is no need for any nail polish remover or acetone(helpful while traveling)
* the wraps DO NOT destroy your nail bed (Ive read a ton of reviews of different nail wraps that were, lets say, "glue based" that when ladies tried to remove them, the glue actually peeled off a layer of the nail)
* nail wraps stay on for a couple of days without a fuss
* A BAD THING I noticed: they shrink under a top coat. I honestly dont know if they wouldnt under something else than Seche Vite - I used SV and they shrank like crazy. I googled around and ladies write that some top coats that arent fast drying are much kinder to the wraps and they dont shirnk - not sure myself. The only top coat I have is SV.

( I have been doing house work and going to job while I had them on - so no vacation)

I purchased the wraps myself, for no other reason as to try them out myself and help you ladies to decide if you wanna try them or not. I do not get paid by the company and this was my honest review.

Would I buy them again? Yes. As I wrote, they are easy to apply and re-apply + removal is painless. The nails dont get damaged - most important thing. At the stores there is much more designs to choose from than on their website so I would look there. They are perfect for when you are going for a party and have no time for a fancy nail art or even when you going to sit at home and relax - pretty nails are awesome to look at, dont you agree? :)

I hope you enjoyed my review - its nothing fancy but I decided to write one on the nail wraps cause I couldnt find anybody else writing about them when I wondered if I should buy them or not.

Thank you for stopping by! :) xx

Blue madness.

Hey!

Today I have for you a quick post featuring a mani that Ive worn a while ago but never got around to posting it. I really enjoyed the mani, it was simple yet pretty - the way I like it :)

I had 2 easy coats of Take Me To Your Chateau by Color Club on my index and pinky finger, on my middle finger Ive done a simple gradient with Take Me To Your Chateau and Scuba Blue by IsaDora, followed by one coat of Wet n Wild Halucinate. A dotticure on my ring finger featuring all the blues from the mani and a Shimmer Mint by Gina Tricot.

What do you guys think about this one?

Thank you for stopping by! :) xx

My very first attempt at galaxy nails.

Hey ladies!

How are all of you today? Im very excited to show you my very first galaxy mani that I made a while back. Im very proud of myself that it actually looks nice but the thing with galaxy manis is that you cant really do wrong :) Wanna see how it went? Here:

I started off with a simple black base then started sponging: first Essie Blanc (white, to get the colors to pop out on the back), Blue Jeans by IsaDora, Gina Tricot Marina, China Glaze Grape Pop, IsaDora Lilac Bikini and at the end I added one coat of OPI Servin' Up Sparkle.

I thought it was a bit too dark but Im not sure, I kind of like it that way. Maybe next time I will do something more bright :)

So what do you think, how does it look like? Im definitely going to try this nail art in the future again, as I said the mani itself is like a childs play + the color combos are endless :)

Thank you for stopping by! :) xx

Last of my neon manis - splatter!

Hello there!

I hope you are having a great day! Today I have for you my last neon mani which, as said above, is a splatter. Here it goes:

On a white base I started off with the brightest of the bunch Python Green by Gina Tricot, next in the lane was Shiney Coral by HOTmakeup and last but not least was Power Pink by IsaDora. I love splatters, they are so funky yet really pretty!

Did you like the color combo of this mani? :)

I enjoyed the neon week a lot, the weather is nice so the nails are super bright in the sun, lovely! I also got many compliments from guys I know even though they are not into nails at all :)

Thank you for stopping by! :) xx

Neon + nude.

Hello there!

Wow, its been a while! Sorry for that :( Ive had some probs with my health then I just needed time to recovery and get some energy to keep blogging so thats why Ive been absent from here.

Now that it has been said, Im back! Like full time and I couldnt be happier.

So todays post will be another neon mani of my neon week. Neon and nude. Ive seen lots of beautiful manis where those two were combined so I decided to make one myself, thats how it ended up:

On my index finger and pinky I made the "reverse gradient" that has been inspired by Adventures In Acetone, if you dont already go follow her! Shes absolutely amazing :) Middle finger and ring finger are all in polka dots - neon ones!

It looks adorable! As my base color I used Nordic Cap NP06 and the neon polish is Shiney Coral by HOTmakeup.

Do you like it? Would you try the nude + neon combo yourself? Let me know :)

Thank you for stopping by! :) xx

Neon yellow lace.

Hello lovelies!

I hope you are having a good beginning of the week! Today I have another neon manicure for you -  its already third one!

I started off with a white base for this mani (as I usually do when Im about to use neon colors on my nails) then added 2 coats of Python Green by Gina Tricot. Python Green is very unique, it has a pearly finish to it. That was the main reason why I bought it in the first place, Im not into pearly finishes so much but this one is very unusual. When this was dry I stamped a image from Bundle Monster plate MB314. Here is the result:

I really enjoyed this mani! I didnt think I would but the combination of neon and lace is amazing. Im sure thats not end of it.

Did you like this manicure? Would you wear something similar to this? Let me know!

Thank you for stopping by! :) xx

Neon gradient with a sparkle!

Hello there!

I hope you are having a great Friday! Today I have for you something very bright and shiny, second neon inspired manicure. See for yourselves:

As you can see, my camera went crazy and instead of capturing the brightness of the colors, it hid in the corner and cried, which saddens me lots. I have no clue why the polish on my ring finger came out this way, the polish Im holding is Shiney Coral by HOTmakeup. On the right side of my ring finger nail the color is true. Bottle looks more pink than it really is.

I started off with a white base and mixed my neon-ish colors: (from left to right) Golden Rose Sweet Color 62 (green), Gina Tricot Python Green (yellow),  HOTmakeup Shiney Coral (peach) and IsaDora Power Pink (pink). Since Python Green has a pearly finish I covered the gradient with H&M Jo Is In The House. The holographic particles are kind of big so this picture looks at least weird. Im aware, but boy! So much holo in the sun! The brights looked amazing in the sun.

The picture is taken on purpose, to show you how much it shines in the right lighting. I was photographing the manicure at night so there was no sun to help me get this picture.

Keep out for the next neon inspired mani :)

Thank you for stopping by! :) xx
