A little bit of tribal print on my nails.

Hello there lovelies!

Wow, this week has been crazy for me, I just started a new job and I couldnt get used to it. Had absolutely no power when I got home so I didnt even check my blog. Not even my mail, nothing. Im sorry for my absence, its going to be all better now :)

Im very excited to show you todays mani. Its my first take at tribal-ish nail art. I always thought its very difficult to achieve a nice look and let me tell you, it is! For you whose hands are a bit shaky its hard to get the lines straight but I made it! Let me show you:

Like I said, its kind of tribal, I like it nonetheless :) Base for my tribal print is a simple gradient using Color Club Take Me To Your Chateau, IsaDora Scuba Blue and China Glaze Tart-y For The Party. If you havent noticed those are my to-go summer colors! Then added different shapes using acrylic paint. I know how many "bald sports" I have but believe it or not my acrylic paint is freaking out and just doesnt wanna cooperate. Its one of those very cheap ones so that may be the problem (read bad quality paint).

Overall I love the look, I definitely have to get a good quality acrylic paint cause this one just doesnt cut it. How do you like this look?

Thank you for stopping by! :) xx

Pastel galaxy nails.

Hey there!

Im writing this as its kind of late so dont mind if I say something weird. Im exhausted.

Anyways.. Todays nails are pastel galaxy ones. Okay, so I may have gone totally overboard with these. You see, I wanted to make this mani burst with pastel colors and as I finished it, I realized I used only 2 colors for it with a thrird barerly visible. What a bummer :( I went with it cause why not, will definitely add more colors to it next time but for now... well. Here they are:

I started off with a white base, Essie Blanc, then sponged on Color Club Take Me To Your Chateau, IsaDora Lilac Bikini and a hint of IsaDora Power Pink. I wanted to add more but I just forgot I suppose. Must concentrate on actually doing my nails and not think about everything else while I do my nails. I topped it all off with a coat of Wet n Wild Halucinate.

The pictures dont do justice to the glitter, I really like this one, it sparkles a lot in the sun :) So what do you think about my pastel galaxy nails?

Thank you for stopping by! :) xx

Manicure inspired by a pattern on a duvet cover.

Hey there!

Yeah, you read right. Todays post features a bit of nail art that was inspired by a duvet cover from Ikea. I dont know how I feel about it, I guess its fun to look at :) Here it comes:

My base color is Essie Blanc. The "circles" were done with Essie Where's My Chauffeur, Miss Fancy Pants, IsaDora Power Pink and Vollare City #321.

And here is the picture that I borrowed from Ikea to show you the design:

I did switch up the colors a bit :) What do you think about this one?

Thank you for stopping by! :) xx

Maybelline PolkaDots Collection, are there 2 of the same collection? My picks - swatches and review.

Hello lovelies!

As the title says, today I have for you swatches of the polishes I picked from Polka Dots Collection: the green and the pink. Now, as I googled around a while back, I noticed that Maybelline must have had 2 different "kinds" of the same collection or there is something that I dont understand. You see, all over the beauty blogs the 2 colors that I bought, have totally different names. Ill explain as I show you the swatches.

First is the pink one. My bottle says "201 Speckled Pink" but Maybelline's website clearly shows that the color name is really "85 Pretty in Polka". I have no idea why is that but here are the swatches:

I also noticed that Speckled Pink is a tad darker and more fuchsia like than Pretty in Polka (I compared swatches). As to my own bottle, this polish gave me no trouble while applying but I did apply the second coat dabbing the polish rather than just simply painting, to get some of that gorgeous glitter onto my nails. 3 coats shown here.

Next is the green one. Again, my bottle is "200 Rain Forest Canopy" and on Maybelline's website its called "55 Drops of Jade". Here are the swatches:

I compared my swatch to those on the web and Rain Forest Canopy is a bit darker than Drops of Jade. Formula was the same with this polish, no trouble, dabbing motion while applying it. 3 coats here as well.

In my opinion those are pretty amazing, I like that a brand like Maybelline got into the "indie" trend and decided to create those shades. What I dont understand is why there seems to be 2 different types of the same collection. Why one of those are darker than the others. Does any of you know? If so, please let me know!

Overall I was pleased, the formula was great as for this kind of polish. You know, big particles = big trouble but this time it wasnt the case, a bit of dabbing and everything went nice and easy. I did 3 coats of each for my swatches but only cause my first and last one were really thin. I also wanted to pick up the one with glitter in a clear base but as the luck wanted, there wasnt any left! Literally nowhere in the town I live there has been any, I know cause I stalked poor people working at the drug stores. I only saw the blue one at one of the stores but a lady snatched it before I could run up and take it. As I said, please let me know whats the deal with this collection/s?

@EDIT:

As the lovely, truly lovely, ladies from a facebook group Im in, helped me and explained that Maybelline has two different distributors: one for Europe and one for America. As they are saying, its not the first time that same polishes from those 2 different distributors have different names. Gah, this is all so confusing but thanks to them now I know, and maybe you know now too. Thank you again Laura and Anna! Love <3.

My first ever roses!

Hey there!

Im very excited to show you my first attempt at doing some roses on my fingers! I always loved how they look like on nails and today I finally tried. Without further babbling from me, here they are:

In the beginning I thought I went a little overboard with those, I mean, I could have gone for an accent nail or something but they grew on me. I enjoy this mani so badly. My roses could have ended up a bit better but Im pleased nonetheless.

I started off with Nordic Cap NP06 a beautiful nude with silver shimmer. Then I painted roses with China Glaze Grape PoP and Gina Tricot Bright Peach using a dotting tool then petals with brighter shades of the same colors: China Glaze Tart-y For The Party and Depend #347. Leaves are done with acrylic paint.

So what do you think lovelies? Would you wear this or similar mani yourselves? Let me know!

Thank you for stopping by! :) xx

Inspired by IG? Hell yeah!

Hello lovelies!

So since there is a literally ton of inspiration on Instagram (<-- here is a link to my IG, I share there all my manis, sneak peaks and lots more!) I decided to once in a while either recreate a mani Ive seen on IG or just simply get some ideas from there. Isnt that fun?! Now, of course Im going to credit all the people and give you links to the specific manis so that nobody is saying Im stealing something from someone.

As my first inspiration I used this mani created by @thenailomon. It took my heart right away, I liked that its not so girly mani (skulls, how cool are those?) yet it is girly at once! Here is my recreation:

I did switch the color palette cause I was in no mood for orange. For the gradient base I started of with a coat of Gina Tricot Shimmer Mint and did, said gradient, with Shimmer Mint and IsaDora Scuba Blue, followed by one coat of Nubar Black Polka Dot on top. For my ring finger I used an opaque black polish and did some dots with Essie Blanc.

I loved this mani, I really did. Ive had it on for like 4 days and there was no way I would take it off. of course it started to chip and all that so I had to but I really enjoyed the mani. What do you think? Would you like to see more of this kind of posts? Let me know!

Here is a link to my own Instagram if you missed it before :)

Abstract nail art.

Hello there lovelies!

How is your weekend going? Mine if fiiiiiiiine, loving a free day to do what I want :) For todays post I have for you a treat - me doing some free hand nail art. I said "threat" cause I dont usually go for free hand when it comes to nail art (besides maybe a gradient cause Im comfortable with it) and rather stamp something instead.

Well today is not the case, I decided to play around with my acrylic paints and do something funny :)

Now, the whole manicure is done with acrylic paints, besides the base which is Essie Blanc. I wasnt exactly going for a special pattern, I just got some paint on my brush and started to paint without even thinking much about it. The only thing I wanted was that it looks like an abstract print - if that makes any sense.
(sorries about the blurry picture too)

I loved the look to be honest, it may not be much but I liked how bold the colors are and will definitely do something similar with the same palette - maybe will even find similar polishes to those and think about something then? Tell me what do you think about this manicure!

Thank you for stopping by! :) xx
