Sunflowers - day 52 of the Summer Challenge!

Wow, Im on time with this one as well! :)

Todays theme is sunflowers and I thought Id go for something a bit funny, considering the challenge is all about summer so why not! 

I had an excuse to use my ugly green polish again, seemed fit for sunflowers - not that sunflowers are ugly! Anyways when I was about 7 or 8 years old I had a sunflower dress that I loved and the sunflowers had eyes and were really funny! I remember the pattern from the fabric until today so I thought why not using it as my inspiration. 

I changed the colors a bit and here it is :)

The polishes I used were:

Vollare City nr 321

Broadway Nails Nail Art Paint black & white (for the eyes)

the rest is acrylic paint

Turquoise, aqua or jade - summer challenge!

Hello ladies, sorry for my absence but I've been like crazy busy >.< But I missed you so Im back ;D

Im late with this challenge but here it is nonetheless:

Last time when I was using my turquoise polishes I used them with a purple - Grape pop by China Glaze and a blue - Surfers Paradise by IsaDora (in a water marble here). I really liked the combo of the colors so I did use them again but instead of Ocean Dive I used Nordic Cap NP07.

I used one coat of Grape Pop on all of my nails and while it was drying I painted pieces of scotch tape with blue, aqua and turquoise polishes. After everything was dry I just cut the tape into little stripes and stuck them on my nails! This technique I've learned from this awesome girl that has so much fantasy in doing her nails! I wanted to make an accent nail so I went for good old glitter in purple and green :)

I know it all isnt perfect but well :)

Summer Challenge - Summer splatter!

Ow, how much I waited for this day! I havent try this mani yet so I was very excited to do it :)

This was my first time doing splatter but I must say its so easy and I love the effect!

Day 34 - Pink + purple mani

Aw purple, my favorite color! :) I wont babble so onto the mani:

You may ask yourselves "What? Is that it?" Hell yeah! I like it this way, its very summery and those pictures doesnt show how nice and bright the colors are for real. Well, well, I do like to make my life easier :)

The polishes I used were:

H&M Coral

H&M Purple

I recommend using double layer of base coat when you will be using H&M nail polishes, they stain like crazy :( Other than that I like them, always very pigmented.

Day 32 - Get those embarrassing toes out!

Soooo.. Day of the challenge I'd love to skip if you ask me but what the hell! Time to get my toes out!

Tadah! Well, nothing to be proud of. I did a delicate dotticure with some nude color for base that has no name but I know is from Depend and Nordic Cap NP07 which you can see here. Of course the dots are.. clumsy haha :) We ladies know how strange positions we find ourselves in when it comes to fix a pedicure! (and I mean when we do it ourselves) Not to babble more here are the polishes I used.

I know this isnt much but well. Felt so lazy when I did this that I cant complain how it turned out :)

Summer Challenge day 26 and nail art!

Euro 2012 football nails! Since Ive done this mani before and you can check it out here if you wish to, I swacthed one of the Nordic Cap nail polishes I bought before. Today you are going to see this gorgeously bright orange! I also did some nail art with it so just keep on scrolling down the page :)

The formula is very weird, its good to work with - not too streaky, not too thick but it absolutely doesnt remind me of nail polish! Its a bit like some sort of a oily paint :D Not sure why it is this way but its really easy to work with on the nail plus its fully opaque in one coat. So far I tried a bit all of my Nordic Cap polishes and every single one of them has this strange formula. They are nice at all.

What could I say more about this polish? Its very hard to capture its true color in the camera. Its a bit of neon-ish on the nail although its darker than my true neon orange. Its like something between neon and normal, bright orange creme. 

On this picture you can see for yourselves how bright and strong pigmented this polish is. I have to say the price is also very suitable - read cheap! I dont think its available outside Sweden.

Onto the nail art then! 

Since I wont be doing Independence day mani I did one I wanted to try since I first saw this kind of thing! I completely dont know how to call this mani (Id like to add a label for anybody that would like to check it out and find it easly) so I came up with "almost reggae nails" yes its ridiculous but I suck so badly at finding names for things and animals :|

Although its not made with strict red, yellow and green polish it kind of reminds me of reggae colors. Its was my first attempt at doing this kind of mani.. Whats the name of it? Chevron? Not sure really so please excuse me. Yes, I is crazy.

Summer Challenge day 25 - Summer water marble.

Water marble - I love water marbling! This time I got some bubbles but I still like the mani :) See for yourselves:

Colors are summery for me, I dont think that summer only includes pinks, reds and yellows. This mani reminds me of water a bit so lets go with that, shall we? :D

This time I wasnt lucky while doing it. On my middle finger theres an air bubble, top coat smeared the nail polish on my ring finger and I had an accident with my pinky! And yes, my skin is still in huge need of moisturizing but Im working on it!

Summer challenge day 24!

YES, I skipped a lot of days of the challenge. I dont remember when was the last time I has so busy time :| Not to babble anymore Ill proceed to my newest mani: Underneath the stars. Such a lovely theme! I thought Id go for stars on a black background but instead I did err.. either very early starry night or sunset with stars! Well I cant say the sunset with stars looks exactly like I did it but hey! It does in my head :D

As you can see I had a little accident with my index finger but shhh :)

I made one more picture in a bit of shadow to show you how good my mani looks indoors! (I used very shiny nail polishes so in the sunlight they are amazing but for once I wanted my mani to have the same effect when Im home - so instead of taking a picture with my nails facing the sunlight I stood with my nails facing shadows. This is the outcome:

For me it does look like a bright blue sky that transforms into the night full of glowing stars :) Hope you guys like it! xx

Summer Challenge day 14 - Gardening

Yes, I skipped day 13 cause I felt very uncreative. Im still feeling this way even though I came up with a pretty nice nail art for today. (read yesterday cause Im late with it) No more babbling, here is my design:

My boyfriend said that those remind him of passion fruit but I dont know, I kind of went for flowers but either way it suits the theme :) I tried one stroke technique and I like it. Simple and the effect is gorgeous!

Its my first ever attempt at one stroke nail art so its not prefect! Im just going to keep on practicing and it will be ok :)

Summer Challenge day 12 - HOT HOT HOT combo

Im so angry right now.. I was writing a post and then my internet connection just went to hell. Lost my WHOLE post and I wrote so nicely! :( Now I gave up and Im only gonna put up my manis! Here it is, day 12 of the summer challenge. HOT HOT HOT!

Well.. This isnt that hot but well :) I recently purchased 5 nail polishes of a Swedish company called "NORDIC CAP of Sweden" and among them was this gorgeous nude color with a bit of shimmer in it. I knew that this polish was going to be the first one to swatch and I promise Ill swatch it in near future but now I used it as a base for this mani.

As I was doing my mani I thought to myself "What havent I done in a while?" and the answer to it was french tips! I didnt want my mani to be boring so I made my french tips with gradient. I quite like how it turned out to be, do you?

Summer Challenge day 11 - Pink + Blue day

Pink and blue - this combo is just awesome.
So many ideas, so little finger nails! So I decided that for todays mani Ill do a water marble. I love it. Colors got mixed up somehow and I got a hint of purple in there :) I added some dots to make the mani even more fun, heres the result:

On my middle finger my top coat smeared the biggest dot so I just painted it over and added more top coat he he, yes I got lazy!

Summer Challenge day 10 - Queens Diamond Jubilee

This is my day 10 of the Summer Challenge:

I didnt plan this but the picture shows a foil effect and I have no idea why. I used a silver metallic and silver glitter over it so I guess my camera just freaked out from all of the glitter. This doesnt look like foil in real life at all, its just metallic with lots of glitter on it!

You can see the real effect a bit on my index finger. This picture shows it all better than the first one but I dont own a pro camera so my pictures are what they are :) Anyways it does remind me of Queens jewels. Looks like lots of really tiny diamonds all over my nails. How can I not love it?

Summer Challenge day 9 - Jubilee Street Party

My day 9 of the summer challenge is very simple but I really like how it turned out :) I decided to go for balloons and conffetti - its so festive! Blah, blah, here is the mani:

My nails are nowhere near the balloon shape but shhh :D Otherwise my mani is very festive and I just love the effect. I couldnt really capture how much the glitter polish shines in the sunlight  cause my camera would just freak out and be very stubborn not to show the gorgeous colors underneath the glitter.

This awesome polish from Jessica that Im holding is Krystal Pink. As you can see its little pink glitter and silver erm block glitter? (how do u guys call this kind of blocky glitter?) in a clear base. I have to say that my Jessica polishes are VERY old.. like at least 3 years old but they are still like new ones! I swear! They didnt get even little more thick, they arent runny or anything. Like I said, good as new! I couldnt believe when I opened bottle but like I suspected - still perfect :)

Summer Challenge day 5 - Your favourite summer colour

Here is my day 4 of the Summer Challenge - your favourite summer colour:

Yes, a gradient. Why? Cause I love it! I think its passes into "summery" definition absolutely right. I was going for purple-purple gradient but instead I took a baby pink and I like it even better :)

Even though it doesnt show on the pictures both of those polishes has shimmer so they look pretty amazing in real life. Camera doesnt justify the glitters in them. You can see a bit of it on my index finger on the first picture. The purple I used came out to be a bit pinkish but I dont mind. I like my mani a lot! :)

Summer Challenge day 3 - Summer Dots

So another day of Summer Challenge! Summer Dots. My first attempt was ok but I decided it was way to similar to other summery dots I've seen today so I decided this time even though the colors arent really bright, that this is going to be my mani for day 3 of the challenge. I also forgot to add other amazing girls blogs to the post so you can see how great they are doing. Im sorry for it, I wont forget now! :)

About my cuticles and nails.. I had gel nails for about 2 years then I wanted a break and get back to naturals so after I took them off my nails were just.. a catastrophe! :( I use a base coat from Jessica and my nails are getting way stronger and healthier but they are miss shaped right now so I had to cut them down again. I think Ill go back to my gel nails cause my natural nails are like a piece of hm I dont even know what. If I press my nail lightly they will bend and eventually chip off :( So yes my nails are going to be short and my cuticles.. I HAVE TO CONFESS!!!!!!! For years, since I remember, I've been bitting my cuticles when I get nervous. I stopped that although sometimes under a lot of stress I catch myself bitting my cuticles again. This is such a shame cause Im a nail blogger! How can I do it? But I have my baby oil, my hand cremes and all of those fancy other things that are suppose to help moisturize your skin around your nails but look what happened to my skin after one day not taking care of them (not using any hand cream or anything this kind). I have to recover from it and its going to take time but Ill be strong! I hope :D

Summer Challenge day 2

YES, IM SO LATE WITH THAT I KNOW! Im sorry girls but brutal life kicked in and had to do both of the themes (for day 2 and day 3) today, I just simply didnt want to do my nails around 1 am :|

Anyways here is my day 2 of the Summer Challenge - Chelsea flower show:

I had no idea what was I going for but this is how it turned out. I made it only on one of my fingers cause today was a busy day for me again and I didnt want to make a nice mani, get a picture of it and take it off for the today's challenge :( Im so going to redo this mani some day it kind of reminds me of Holland which isnt that good consider the Summer Challenge is not about Holland at all!

I wasnt sure if I could make it.. I mean look at that! Im not satisfied with the olympic rings my hand wasnt as steady as I would like it to be. But here is the result so my first day is over! I thought I would have problems with torch and fire but Im quite impressed of my skills ahah :D Im excited about next challenge "Chelsea Flower Show" so stay tuned!
