Purple Glitter by H&M! - Swatches and nail art!

Hey ladies, I hope you all are having a great day!

Today I have to show you a very, very pretty polish: Purple Glitter by H&M. It is my new favorite purple of all times! Only recently I found out that this one is very similar to some of the other beauties out there.
OPI It's MY Year, Zoya Faye and Zoya Daul are all similar but not dupes.. or Purple Glitter isnt a dupe of any of them! haha Im confused now >.<

So sorry for the tip wear! I just learned that you actually have to "wrap" your nails in Seche Vite in order to not get "tip wear" after a hour of having your new mani.. Yes, Im a newbie.

Besides the small bottle and very small brush I love this polish. All of it. Formula was amazing to work with, no problems with drying either :) One thing I regret I didnt buy more bottles of this little beauty, oh well..

But here is some nail art with it:

Basically I went for polishes with gold flakes in them I just didnt figure out that this choice would make it hard for me to photograph the mani and to show it to you :( I used Purple Glitter by H&M, Number One Nemesis from OPI and Choose Me by Essence.

If you are sitting there, squinting your eyes to see what I wanted to accomplish, you can see it here. At least it did shine in the sun like crazy so I guess Im forgiven ^^

Hope you guys liked it, thanks for stopping by! :) xx

Versatile Blogger Award

Hey ladies!

Im very excited to tell you that I've been nominated for the Versatile Blogger Award by Colour at your fingertips. Im so happy! Thank you again girl!

Basically there is 5 rules when it comes to this blog award:

1) Nominate 12 bloggers who are relatively new to blogging.
2) Let them know you have nominated them.
3) Share 7 random facts about yourself.
 4) Thank the blogger who nominated you by linking their blog.
5) Add versatile blogger award to your post.

7 facts about myself? Well ok:
1. Madly in love - also with nail polish :)
2. I dont own any gems for nail art, not even a tiny rhinestone.
3. Haven't bought any nail polish in 2 months, I know its a disgrace.
4. Finally ordered my first stamping kit and stamping plates.
5. I confess that I did make my boyfriend sit down with me and I did a full mani on his nails and to answer your question - nope, he didnt like it although the mani was nice.
6. Sucker for Ben & Jerry's Chunky Monkey :$
7. I have less than 100 polishes at the moment.

About the nominating.. So I basically dont follow that many blogs so its hard to find those newbies that could get nominated by me! I had hard time to nominate people for Liebster Award too :< Please forgive me if I leave it blank here so that you can let me know if you got any name that I could put into here :( I feel so bad about it :(

Let me at least tell you that Ill work hard, try to update this post or otherwise just keep on with my blog to give you something interesting to read :) Thanks for stopping by! xx

Puzzle, puzzle me!

Hello sweeties out there!

Today I have a little nail art for you to see :) Curious? Its puzzle design! I've seen so many puzzle designs out there and I was amazed! I like kind of funky manis so this one struck me deep. I thought it would be hard to make cause it looks kinda complicated but its not at all. You can imagine how happy Im now that I see how easy and stunning it is.

I checked youtube around for a tutorial but I cant really bring up one that inspired me, many ladies do it differently so all I got from the videos I've seen was idea that you dont really need to free-hand it!

This is what I ended up with:

This is actually my second attempt at this kind of design. I did one today earlier but the polishes I picked for it didnt match at all nor they showed the puzzle effect well :< So I re-did it with China Glaze Grape PoP and Nordic Cap NP07.

Basically what I did for my index and middle fingers was that I did paint them orange (would be hard for the orange to show well over the purple), cut a few of squares from my scotch tape, put them on my fingernail the way so that I get 2 "free from scotch tape" squares on my nails (opposite ends of my nail bed), paint there purple, pull off the tape and add dots with my dotting tool (orange dots on the purple squares and opposite) so that it looks like puzzle! It isnt hard at all, is it? :)

Did you try this design yet? :) Thanks for stopping by! xx

Franken gradient :)

Hello ladies!
Today I have another one of my frankens to show you but not in a swatch! I made a gradient instead but promise, swatches are yet to come!

The name of this polish is Blue Apples - baby blue base with fine golden glitter in it. I fell in love with it, I hope you will too :)

I used Blue Apples and sponged golden glitter into tips of my nails. I love the combo and I dont think I'll be doing any new mani anytime soon haha - thats how much I like this polish and this mani!

Im off to do some house work :) Hope you liked the mani, thanks for stopping by! xx

My first frankens!

Yes, you read right! I decided to try frankening for the first time and I quite liked it! I had some spare glitter and a few polishes that were nowhere workable so I went for a franken :)

I made 4 frankens at all but today Ill present 2 of my babies: Bowl of Cereal and Starry Morning! (I had some help from my boyfriend with naming them - so lucky Im!)

First comes my personal favorite: Bowl of Cereal.

Bowl of Cereal is a white base with purple fine glitter and red small hex glitter. The hex glitter got stuck to the bottle but theres plenty of it left in the polish :) I had a bad time photographing it cause the weather isnt nice and thats the best my poor cheap camera could do :(

The first thing my boyfriend said when he saw this polish was that it looks like bowl of cereal! Thats how I got the name of this polish :) Another very good thing about this one is that its one-coater. I did use 2 for good measure but I could get away with one!

Next in the lane is Starry Morning

Starry Morning is a lavender base with lots of silver shimmer. This one needed 2 coats but I love this polish :) It also reminds me a lot of OPI I Have A Herring Problem although Starry Morning is more purple-ish. I've got only one picture of this cause as you can see I had to swatch it on my right hand and I just cant take any pictures with my left hand :)

So, did you like my frankens? :D I love them! I think making your own kind of polish is amazing, every nail geek should try it!

Gradient - OPI Just Spotted The Lizard + Lady Luck by H&M

Hello ladies, today I have for you a mani that I promised to make when I swatched Lady Luck by H&M which you all can see here (you've gotta scroll down the site a bit).
I was very excited to do this cause those two polishes are so pretty and I thought they would match each other well! By the way, sorry for the tip wear, darn you Seche Vite!

This is how the gradient looks like, I think its really pretty! :) Lady Luck takes out the green shade out of Just Spotted The Lizard. the combo is awesome if you ask me. Some time ago I purchased Choose Me by Essence which is gorgeous blue-ish teal green with golden flecks and I thought it would make awesome animal print! I wasnt wrong:

This is first time I ever tried animal print so be kind! haha Even though it takes a bit of time I think its totally worth it! Im in love with it:

All of those colors are amazing together and Im really glad I did this mani :)

Do you like animal print? Rather paint it yourself or stamp it? Let me know! :) xx Thanks for stopping by!

Sunflowers - day 52 of the Summer Challenge!

Wow, Im on time with this one as well! :)

Todays theme is sunflowers and I thought Id go for something a bit funny, considering the challenge is all about summer so why not!

I had an excuse to use my ugly green polish again, seemed fit for sunflowers - not that sunflowers are ugly! Anyways when I was about 7 or 8 years old I had a sunflower dress that I loved and the sunflowers had eyes and were really funny! I remember the pattern from the fabric until today so I thought why not using it as my inspiration.

I changed the colors a bit and here it is :)

The polishes I used were:
Vollare City nr 321
Broadway Nails Nail Art Paint black & white (for the eyes)
the rest is acrylic paint

I hope you enjoy the mani as much as I do! :)

You my lovely readers should check out list of girls taking part in Summer Challenge - maybe not every day, but definitely participating! I made a post with all the links to their blogs, you can find all of the links in a page "Purple Crumpet Fairy Challenge" in the top right corner of my blog! :) Come on, go head and check them out, they are doing amazing manis as you read this!

Day 51 - Summer Needle Drag!

Aww how much I like this technique! Im so happy needle dragging was one of the themes that we were suppose to do! ;D Ah, no more of my babbling, lets get to the mani :)

Im so sorry for my black cuticles but I've been playing with a black polish for so long that even acetone wasnt enough to clean them up :)

So yeah, like I said, I love needle drag technique! :)

Polishes I used were:
Nordic Cap NP12 - black
Nordic Cap NP07 - greenish

Did you like it? Will you be trying out needle drag tecnique?

You my lovely readers should check out list of girls taking part in Summer Challenge - maybe
not every day, but definitely participating! I made a post with all the links to their blogs,

My first ever MSMD!!!

Hello ladies, I decided to participate in MSMD! Im a bit short on my free time lately so I cant really keep up with the summer challenge :( But Im eager to at least do my nails properly before every monday!

So this picture is a mystery of mine, I think one of our lovely ladies from Summer Challenge (or not?) posted it as a mani she did on her client in her saloon? Not sure! Please forgive me that I forgot but when I saw this mani I knew Im going to recreate it when I can and I forgot to spare the picture with the name of the lady that posted it!

Picture of the original design

I think she said its all made in gel (not sure though) and I love how the red, white, blue and glitter come together into one beautiful mani :) Here is my not-so-great recreation of this amazing mani:

I actually wanted to recreate it in 100% but too bad I didnt have the glitter she had so I used what I had :) Also pictures taken in 2 different day times cause the glitter I have is a pain in the neck! to photograph. Second picture taken under artificial light:

Polishes I used were:
Index finger & pinky: China Glaze Hey Sailor
Middle finger: Mavala White + Miss Selene 167
Ring finger: Mavala 49 White, Jessica King Tut's Gem
and for the heart on the ring finger: China Glaze Hey Sailor

I truly hope I didnt offend the girl who did this mani. I hope you do read my blog or at least this post and let me know who you are so that I can credit you for this awesome work!

Turquoise, aqua or jade - summer challenge!

Hello ladies, sorry for my absence but I've been like crazy busy >.< But I missed you so Im back ;D

Im late with this challenge but here it is nonetheless:

Last time when I was using my turquoise polishes I used them with a purple - Grape pop by China Glaze and a blue - Surfers Paradise by IsaDora (in a water marble here). I really liked the combo of the colors so I did use them again but instead of Ocean Dive I used Nordic Cap NP07.

I used one coat of Grape Pop on all of my nails and while it was drying I painted pieces of scotch tape with blue, aqua and turquoise polishes. After everything was dry I just cut the tape into little stripes and stuck them on my nails! This technique I've learned from this awesome girl that has so much fantasy in doing her nails! Here you can check out the post that she used the technique with scotch tape: CLICK.

I wanted to make an accent nail so I went for good old glitter in purple and green :)

I know it all isnt perfect but well :)

Polishes I used were:
China Glaze Gape Pop
Jessica King Tut's Gem
IsaDora Ocean Dive
Nordic Cap NP07
Miss Selene Mini nr 173
+ top coat

You my lovely readers should check out list of girls taking part in Summer Challenge - maybe
not every day, but definitely participating! I made a post with all the links to their blogs,
you can find all of the links in a page "Purple Crumpet Fairy Challenge" in the top right corner
of my blog! :) Come on, go head and check them out, they are doing amazing manis as you read this!
